The Sun re-opened in late 2003 as a restaurant & bar. The new interior is sleek yet comfortable in the bar area & a smart but intimate restaurant. Most of the staff here at Stafford247 have been here at least twice & enjoy the atmosphere & friendly service. The menu is varied ranging from a superb Asparagus & Pecorino Risotto for first course to a main course of Braised Rabbit with Flagolet Beans & Coarse Grain Mustard. They show loyalty to their county by using local produce & their Char Grilled Staffordshire Beef Fillet doesn’t dissapoint! Servings are genorous, but, depending on your appetite they have a choice of side dishes from good old fashioned chips to some delicious Roasted Carrots with Dill. Vegetarians are catered for particularly in the first courses, not as much choice for main courses but what is there looks good. If you have enough room for a dessert how about Warm Carrot Cake, deliciously moist, served with Creme Fraiche & Honey Syrup or a sumptuos Orange Chocolate Truffle with Milk Chocolate Ice Cream! If however you’re not a pudding person, try their selection of continental cheeses served with chutney & walnut bread. There is an interesting & varied selection of both red & white wines, including Rose`wine & Champagne if you’re celebrating (or just feeling decadent!) Service is friendly & efficient without making you feel rushed. All in all an excellent restaurant in which to spend an evening!
