As well as an excellent restaurant menu, Abdul’s Asian Cuisine offer a takeaway menu of an equally good standard.

Apart from the usual traditional dishes you can also choose from the Chef’s Specials section, for example the intriguing sounding Amm, Chicken or Lamb Tikka which is cooked with Mango in a rich sauce made with cream & almonds. It sounded good but probably a little on the sweet side for us!

We shared a mixed starter at £3.95, a tasty combination of Chicken Tikka, Onion Bhaji & Sheek Kebab served with salad, a good start to our meal! For main course I chose a Biryani with Tandoori Chicken at £7.95. The rice, flavoured with Saffron, was delicious mixed with the chicken & the accompanying vegetable curry was excellent with large chunks of carrot & potato-spicy but not overly so.

My fella went for a Lamb Tikka Balti at £6.20. Tender pieces of lamb in a superb balti sauce, admittedly an old favourite of his but, as he put it “Up to my standard!”

To go with our dishes we chose an onion nan bread at £1.95.
