Name: Emma Winkle. Occupation: Dance teacher. Age: 21 Again! Favourite Song: “Sweet Dreams” by Annie Lennox makes me turn up the volume! Favourite Film: The Goonies is a classic! Hobbies or Intrests: Anything active-walking, Pilates, reading crime novels, going to the theatre. Favourite Food: Anything freshly made, followed by chocolate for dessert! Favourite drink: Water. Favourite Book: Anything by Patricia Cornwell. Worst thing about me: Probably my feet when I get home from a night of tap dancing! Best thing about me: I can be very determined, driven & focused (which apparently is also one of my bad points!) I Like: Chilling out with my partner on the sofa. I Dislike: Arrogance, broken promises, bullying & racism. Best advice you ever had: Rest! (after a bad knee injury-just wish I’d listened sooner!). History: Born & raised in Stafford, & taken to my first ballet class at the tender age of three at the Austin-Thomas School of Dancing- which is now Dragonfly Dance Centre. I must have caught the “dancing bug” as I went on to take classes in Tap, Modern & Jazz dance, & have never looked back since! I gave up my job in retail & at 18 I travelled to the Greek Island of Corfu for a Summer, & had great fun working behind a beach bar with a beautiful view over the sea, & lots of fun with my friends. Shortly after my return to Stafford, I started to train as a dance teacher at the Dragonfly Dance Centre, whilst gaining practical experience by assisting with classes & teaching the younger students. I fell in love with teaching & have gone on to take my higher exams, & only have my fellowship left to go which I hope to take next year.
