Stafford247’s Guide to Moving House.

Moving house is counted as one of the most stressful times in our life & whatever distance you’re moving it requires good preparation! The gang at Stafford247 have all been through this experience & so we have compiled our own guide to moving house-we hope you find it helpful!

So you’ve decided to move?!

There are so many things to consider once you’ve made the decision to move !! Flat or house? Terraced or detatched? For a growing family more room & access to good schools will be top priority! If you’ve retired & your children have flown the nest then you’ll probably want to downsize to somewhere quiet (& with some good local pubs!-Chris stafford247).

Looking at properties.

Once you’ve decided what area you want to move to start looking for properties. The sooner you start doing this the better, so if you spot one in the local paper or an estate agents window make an appointment to view it ASAP, remember, your idea of a dream home may be the same as someone else’s!
When looking at a property don’t be afraid to ask questions, after all this is probably the most expensive purchase you’re ever going to make, so you want to know what you’re thinking of spending your money on!
Below is a handy list of questions you might want to ask, please feel free to print it out to take along to viewings!

~What is the Council Tax band for the area?
~Does the property have it’s own parking & if not is it easy to park in the area?
~What direction does the garden face? (i.e. Is it any good for sunbathing?!)
~Does the property have double glazing/central heating?
~What are the neighbours like? Is the neighbourhood friendly in general?
~Are there any good schools in the area?
~What is the public transport like? Is there a regular bus service? How far is the railway station?
~Is the area noisy (traffic etc)?
~What are the local amenities like? Is there a pub/post office/doctors etc?
~Is the property in a chain & are the owners in a hurry to move?
~What changes have the owners made to the property since they moved in? Is there anything still to be done & will it be done before the property changes hands?
