The opening number from Joolz Gianni was an amazing version of “Summertime” & from that we knew we were in for a treat! This talented sax player has performed professionally with his own band since 1993, appearing at Birmingham Symphony Hall & the famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. The two sets of the evening included a great selection of covers for all tastes from laid back in the first set to more up tempo & funky in the second. Joolz obviously loves audience participation & encouraged everyone to get up & boogie!! One stand-out moment was when, during one of the songs, he held a single note for what seemed like hours!!It was awesome & met with great appreciation form all of us!! A great talent, who along with his equally talented band, provided a fabulous evening of entertainment. Let’s hope we see Joolz Gianni & his band again soon! |
