If you’re ever in town early & aren’t in a hurry to get to work or do your shopping then pop into The Swan Hotel & try their “Early Bird” breakfast deal.
For just £2.35 choose from either a Bacon or Sausage sandwich or Croissant or Toast (with butter & preserve) plus tea, coffee or orange juice.

I had a Croissant & upgraded my coffee to a Latte for an extra 60p & Steve had toast & orange juice.
The Latte was nice & milky & went well with my croissant, Steve enjoyed his toast & the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious!
Stafford 247 Verdict: The Swan’s Early Bird Breakfast is the perfect start to the day!!

The Soup Kitchen.

There can be very few Staffordians who haven’t had the pleasure of visiting The Soup Kitchen!
This beautiful 16th Century building is one of Stafford’s most cherished landmarks & sits in the heart of the town centre in the picturesque Church Lane. Flowers & hanging baskets adorn the exterior in the summer months & as well as being popular with the locals it attracts scores of tourists all year round!

Today however, we had breakfast on our minds with a busy day ahead of us, what better way to start it! We found a table & one of the friendly waitresses gave us the breakfast menu.

The interior is positively labyrinthian with lots of nooks & crannies to tuck yourself away into, not to mention the rooftop garden for an alfresco lunch on a sunny day.

I chose Poached Eggs on Brown Toast at £3.55. Two perfectly poached eggs on two slices of brown toast = a very satisfying breakfast! I washed it down with a delicious creamy latte at £1.95.
Steve went for a Bacon Roll at £3.15 & added an egg for an extra 45p & seemed very happy with his choice judging by the comments between (big) mouthfuls! He opted for a freshly squeezed orange juice at £1.95, ensuring him one of his 5-a-Day!

Poached Egg on Toast. Bacon & Egg Roll.

As they state on their menu “Children & Grannies adored” but the truth is The Soup Kitchen welcomes everyone, so next time you’re in town step into one of Stafford’s best loved!!
